When I can, I like to get outside with my plein air kit and enjoy the view. A photograph is a great record of the facts of a place, but a painting is a record of who I felt about being there
It’s nice to have a place to escape and have random, fanciful, unpolished, disassociated thoughts. My Sketchbook is a place like that, and every now and then I alone the world a peek inside.
In the same family as the painted landscapes, but a bit more “fast and nasty.” More portable, faster, a better way to capture a spontaneous moment.
